For this week's post, I thought it would be fun to give you a little recap of my weekend because it was one of the best I've had in a while! If you read my Minnesota travel diary last month, > here!< you'd have seen that I flew to MN to not only to spend some much needed time with my friend, Josh, but to also see my favorite band, Oh Wonder, perform. Our plan was for us to fly out to each other's cities to see them play, and this weekend, it was his turn to come out to me.

I planned a weekend getaway for us and we spent a few days in LA and another in San Diego. In LA, we stayed at the Kawada Hotel which I really enjoyed! It was located right in the center of downtown so we were never really too far from anywhere. We tried out some new places and revisited some old favorites. We hopped around between coffee shops, cute cafes, and some clubs (which totally isn't my thing, but still was so fun).

Weekend Highlights:
1. Staying at the Kawada Hotel: It doesn't matter if you're traveling hundreds of miles away or staying in your own city, being in a hotel is the best! It's so relaxing waking up in the city and being able to come and go as you please. Also, the valet was the best because parking in LA sucks and having my car parked for me after a long day of exploring was everything. We were right in the middle of downtown LA and the view of the city outside our window was gorgeous.

2. Coffee Shops Galore: Coffee shop hopping really is my favorite thing to do. I could spend hours in a coffeehouse, go to another, and sit for another couple hours. Josh is one of the few people I know who could sit there as long as I can and not get bored. We tried out Verve and the newest Alfred location in Beverly Hills, and both thoroughly impressed me.

3. Venice Beach: Visiting Venice was so nice since I hadn't been in quite some time. Venice is always an interesting time-- it's got a good mix of locals and tourists and we were super lucky that when we went it wasn't too crowded. There are very few things better than walking on the beach alongside the ocean. It's so calming and a great reminder of how beautiful my home is. We also walked around the streets and popped into some cute little shops and had the best poke bowl ever at Lemonade.

4. Museum of Broken Relationships: Did you really go to LA if you didn't visit at least one museum? There are a million and one different museums in LA and my goal is to visit them all. This weekend, we checked out the Museum of Broken Relationships and I actually really loved it. It was little but had an oh so powerful message. There was something so reassuring about knowing that you're not alone in heartbreak-- everyone has felt it at some point in their lives and seeing and reading other people's stories was so comforting.

5. Oh Wonder Concert: This concert was the reason for the entire weekend. Since I had seen them in Minneapolis, I knew how great the show was going to be but I wasn't prepared for just how amazing of a night it was going to turn into. This time around, I was able to get up to the second row and let me tell you, being surrounded by some of your best friends, dancing and singing along to your favorite songs, is the best feeling in the world. I danced and sang (and even cried) and for those few hours, I was the happiest I could be. It was hands down one of the best nights of my life and I'm only slightly heartbroken that I don't have another show to look forward to.

Like I said, this was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time. It was almost an entire year ago that Josh and I casually mentioned how it would super cool for us to fly out to each other to see Oh Wonder and now it's sadly come to an end. It's really fulfilling knowing we pulled it all off and while I don't know when I'm going to see him next, I know it'll be another great adventure.

I really hope you enjoyed this style of post!
Until next time,
Stay Wild
