I've seen these cute fruit-donuts fronuts? all over Pinterest and Tumblr and thought they were too sweet to not try! Also, let's pretend these donuts count as our fruit serving for the day, okay? ;)

I know these can seem a little intimidating, but don't worry, from the batter to the decorating, these donuts are super simple and super customizable. The world is your oyster when it comes to these donuts-- you can make any fruits, veggies, stick to solid colors, use chocolate, add sprinkles-- you can literally do anything! So get some friends together and give them a try!

Ingredients:
Donuts
-1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
-1 egg
-3 tablespoons melted butter
-1/4 cup milk
-2/3 cup of plain greek yogurt
-1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Glaze
-2 cups powdered sugar
-4 tablespoons water
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-Food coloring of your choice

Directions:
1. In one bowl, mix together your wet ingredients (egg, butter, milk, yogurt, & vanilla) and in another bowl, mix together your dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, & nutmeg). Then slowly add your dry ingredients into your wet until just combined.

2. Spray your donut pan with cooking spray and add your batter until they are three-quarters full. Tip: Put your batter into a piping bag for more control and less mess!

3. Pop your filled donut pan into a 350 degree oven for 9 minutes and set aside to cool.

4. To make your glaze, mix together your powdered sugar, water, and vanilla then divide into as many bowls as you'll need, then add a few drops of food coloring to each of them.

5. Decorate! All you have to do is dip your donuts into the glazes then set them aside to cool. Tip: Make sure to let each color layer completely set before dipping it into the next to avoid color blending. For added flair and cuteness, I cut out some leaf shapes from green paper and taped them onto toothpicks!

And that's it! Super simple, right? Let me know what you think in the comments below and tell me what other treats you'd like to see on my blog! Until next time,
